Halloween Party day at PDS.
There was Nathan (or was it Eliot?) the Firefighter.
Amelie came as Cherry Jam (a new generation Strawberry Shortcake character--my how times have changed).
And Christian was a zookeeper. Everything was fine and dandy until suddenly the zookeeper went down! (I think he was attacked by some tigers, which according to reports, is what happens everyday at preschool.)
The day's events included lots of arts and crafts, a feast, a parade, and a movie.
As the parent volunteer, I had the pleasure of helping the kids with their ghost crafts. Easy enough.
Step 1: Cut out ghost
Step 2: Glue eyes on ghost
Step 3: Choose stickers for eyes
Step 4: Make ghost face
All the students gladly let me help guide them through each step. Well, all students, except one...
Step 1 - Me: "Can I help you cut out the ghost?" I ask Isabella, (who doesn't know yet how to hold scissors properly.)
Her: "no."
Step 2 - Me: "Now glue the eyes on the top part of the ghost."
Her: "ok"
Step 3 - Me: "Choose two stickers for the eyes"
Her: "Can I have a marker?"
Step 4 - Me: "Now decorate your ghost, you know, make a face"
Introducing The Cerebral Ghost, by Isabella Holsten. I know what you are thinking, and yes, I am already afraid for the teenage years. (Although, it's a pretty cute ghost, don't you think?)
The spookiest part of the celebration was the movie theater seats that eat little children. But boy did they have fun.
