Not the "Temporary Wish" Museum (although that might be interesting) but rather the Contemporary Jewish Museum of San Fran.

The purpose for our trip was to go see an exhibit of Margaret and H.A. Rey's Curious George drawings, etc at the CJM. Although Isabella loves George and all his curiosities, she seemed unimpressed that he started out as one of nine monkeys or that his original name was Fifi. Or that Margaret and H.A. Rey had to flee Nazi soldiers in Paris on their bikes, carrying their drawings on their backs. (They credited their illustrations for saving their lives, which is why the theme of escaping trouble is in all the George books). She was interested, however, in climbing the big flight of stairs to the second floor, which was fortunate because we were able to wander into an exhibit about the Torah. The Almost- 3 -Year- Old sat with me on a bench for 15 minutes watching a video presentation about the beautiful and methodical way a soferet (a female scribe) writes out the sacred text of the Torah.

And around the corner and over a pedestrian bridge there is a carousel.
For 3 bucks you get TWO rides. And it goes fast. And there were no lines. Way better than the county fair.

This carousel is over 100 years old. It was originally intended for SF but the 1906 earthquake devastated the park it was supposed to be in. It then got shipped up to Seattle. That park eventually burned down and the only surviving structure was the carousel. It then made it's way back to SF and I don't remember the rest of the story, but it's beautiful.

We had a sleepover at Nana and Papa's and a big pancake breakfast the next morning. Yum.
